About Us

ComplEat Analytics is a husband-and-wife advisory firm built for the complexity of food and agriculture. We work with companies when the commercial path forward isn't clear — which markets to enter, which partners to pursue, how to structure the deals that move the business forward. And we work with the trade associations, commodity boards, and industry groups around them when the economic value of what they've built needs to be measured, made credible, and put in front of the people who can act on it. In both cases, we turn complexity into something specific that clients can act on or stand behind.

Allison

Allison leads the commercial consulting and advisory work. She has spent her career at the center of food and agricultural commerce: structuring deals, opening markets, and building commercial strategies across commodity production, supply chain infrastructure, sustainability programs, and consumer markets. That work has taken her across fresh produce, grains, fiber, protein, and renewable fuels, each with its own buyers, its own deal dynamics, and its own commercial logic. She has negotiated with the U.S. Trade Representative on market access for U.S. agricultural exports, presented to the California Air Resources Board and the U.S. Department of Treasury on agricultural policy implementation, and closed transactions ranging from paid proofs of concept to multi-year supply agreements with Fortune 100 companies. She has been the corporate buyer deciding which partnerships move forward and the growth-stage operator fighting to get those same deals approved.

She brings that unique vantage point to every client engagement. She helps clients see which commercial direction is actually worth pursuing, understand what the other side of the table is thinking before the first conversation happens, and find the specific path from where they are now to where they want to be.

Michael leads the economic consulting and analysis work. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Applied and Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M and built his career close to the data that drives food and agricultural markets, starting with internships on the House Agriculture Committee and at USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service before moving into economic consulting at Informa Economics. While at Informa, he led economic impact studies, feasibility studies, and scenario analysis for major agricultural organizations. He later worked as an economist at the American Farm Bureau Federation, communicating market analysis and policy research directly to congressional staff and federal regulators. He was then the lead analyst in animal protein for a risk management start up making multi-million dollar hedging decisions before leaving to work in the beef packing industry. He has advanced proficiency and formal training in IMPLAN software, and the commodity-specific market knowledge to make sure every study reflects how each sector actually operates rather than how a generic model assumes it does.

He helps clients understand what their organization or industry actually creates in economic terms, builds the evidence base that holds up when people have detailed questions, and translates complex modeling into numbers that moves legislators, regulators, and member audiences to act.

Michael

We built ComplEat Analytics to help clients work through their hardest problems. By combining Michael’s ability to break down the most complex information and Allison’s deal-making pattern recognition, we can unlock ambiguity and surface new ways of thinking about ambiguous information.

Our strategic location in Northwest Arkansas also gives us a unique perspective. Our proximity to Walmart, Tyson Foods, and some of the largest CPG companies in the world shapes how we see the market evolving and keeps us close to the buyers, decision-makers, and commercial conversations that impact where the industry is headed.
